The NCHU EMI Teaching & Learning Center is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the  2026 Fall Semester Inter-University Faculty Development Communities.

 

The communities provide opportunities for faculty members to collaborate with colleagues across institutions, exchange teaching experiences, explore innovative approaches to EMI instruction, and refine course design through shared practice and reflection.

📝 Category A | ESP/ESAP Lesson Design Community

 

Reimagining ESP/ESAP Course Design

 

Participants will begin with professionally developed ESP/ESAP teaching materials and adapt them to their own disciplinary and instructional contexts. Through collaborative discussion and classroom implementation, faculty members will develop a semester-long syllabus or lesson plan that reflects their own teaching goals and students' learning needs.

 

📚 Category B | EMI Course Quality Assurance Community

 

Exploring Quality through EMI Teaching Practice

 

Participants will work collaboratively to examine an authentic EMI course, reflect on teaching and learning evidence, identify effective practices, and exchange ideas for continuous course improvement. The community provides a supportive environment for discussing course quality and sharing practical experiences across institutions.
